Used as a method to tap into the factory wiring harness, without cutting into the actual wires, and breakout all FOUR wires which can then be connected to a standard trailer wire connector vehicle side. Doing so will allow a trailer connected to the ATV to have as a minimum the brake and tail lights. If the ATV previously had a turn signal kit or possibly factory turn signals, this connector supports the additional turn signal to flow through to the trailer.
